Lemme Splain

There are some pretty wacky pictures in my flickr that I just added. They’re some of the photos that we took over the weekend while we were in Lake Arrowhead. We’re kinda making this a regular thing to go up there with Tim and Shana and we have a blast every time. This particular group of pictures showcases a subject standing still while two of us run around with flashlights on our head during a long exposure. Who knew a flashlight on your head would be so valuable!

Then later we did wrote names in the air with the flashlight things kinda like we used to do when we were kids on the 4th of July with sparklers. The pics turned out pretty psychedelic.

You can see these wacky photos in a set right here.

Feeling better in SF

So I’m feeling a bit better. The sore throat is gone and it’s more of just a cold thing now. That I can deal with. Yesterday we drove up to Cupertino and stopped by Apple to visit Margaret for lunch. The Apple Campus was very cool to see and she gave us a quick tour that included meeting her sister, who also works there. The four of us were chatting in the hall when Steve (Mr. Jobs, The Steve, etc.) walked by and said “Hi.” We stopped at the company store for some t-shirts and were on our way to “The City.”

Last night (Tuesday) we checked into our hotel, which is so nice it feels like we’re stealing to get it at the rate we did (Monique used Hotwire .com and got it for a third of the price!). Then we walked to Chinatown to eat and browse the crazy shops. Good stuff.

This morning we’re just getting started… planning our day and taking our time. We’ll be driving back to San Jose tonight sometime, but before then I think I need to hop a few cable cars. ;-)

Sick!

You know what’s not fun? Being sick while you’re on vacation. I started getting a sore throat on Friday night and woke up kinda sick on Saturday. We drove to the San Francisco area to go to the first wedding of the trip on Saturday morning. The wedding and the reception location were really nice. From the reception in Tiburon, CA there was a beautiful view of San Francisco across the bay.

I’m on the meds in hopes to be ship-shape for our trip to downtown San Fran tomorrow. And of course, a stop on the way at Infinite Loop to visit Apple headquarters and have lunch with Margaret.

Happy 4th of July, everyone!
