Day 2

Today we did a lot of sightseeing. Starting off with the London Eye (which I was totally afraid of) and ending up at Picadilly Circus. Along the way we saw Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and Parliament, Trafalgar Square, and much more.

More tomorrow. Good night! (it’s 11:04pm local time)

Two Worlds About to Collide?

CNN is reporting that Disney is “in serious talks” about buying Pixar. There have been rumors for awhile about the deal between the two being renewed (This summer’s “Cars” is the last in their current agreement, which I’ve seen and it’s great — more on that later) but this would be something a bit different.

In addition to the purchase, CNN is reporting that Steve Jobs may even snag a seat on the Disney Board if this all goes through.

Personally I’m always cautious about a change this large, but Disney and Pixar seem to be a really good match. At least all of the movies they’ve released so far have been light years above their competitors. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this one turns out.

Painted Lady Migration

If you’re in Southern California, look out the window, or jsut look up in the sky. You’ll probably see some butterflies fluttering by. It’s pretty amazing, especially today as there are thousands of these guys migrating North right now. What are they migrating to? Heck if I know, maybe a gigantic windshield in Canada? I guess I didn’t read that far… but I’m sure Jason can throw more facts about this phenomenon our way (Jason, please do!). I thought I’d point it out as it’s pretty remarkable, and it just felt right since I’ve recently been revelaed as a girl.

Read more about the Painted Lady Migration here, but in short, these guys migrate North when the weather warms up after we’ve had a lot of rain. This year certainly qualifies!
