Another New Theme

This “new” one is a flashback to the design that the site had before I migrated over to Wordpress. It’s pretty much the same except for some slight improvements. I had to recreate the entire thing anyway, so I figured I’d fix/add some things.
If you’re not seeing the new/old theme right now, then click here to activate it. Remember, the last theme you have active when you leave the site will be the one you get next time you visit. Try them all to see which one you like best!

More are on the way… Monique’s making one for me, and I’ve got another in the works as well. These are fun to make!
New Theme!

Notice anything different? This Ferrari based theme is my latest creation. I started with a really cool pre-made theme for Wordpress called Rin and re-worked it into what you see here. If you hate it, fear not! You can switch back to the “Retro Blue” theme in the sidebar. The blue theme now has a theme selector in its sidebar as well. Once you select a theme, the site will remember what theme you picked and serve that up to you on your next visit.
Just for comparison, check out these links: Retro Blue Theme | Ferrari Theme
The new Ferrari theme is done in the team’s official colors and features three photos of famous Ferrari Formula 1 drivers: Niki Louda, Gilles Villenueve, and Michael Shumacher. The images come up randomly… collect all three!
I’m probably not done creating themes, but two is good for now. I realize this won’t be everyone’s favorite as it’s pretty specific in it’s theme. But hey, red’s my favorite color, F1 has filled my hockey void for the time being, and… well, it’s my blog after all, right?
Finally on WordPress

After years of blogging on Movable Type, I’ve joined the ranks of the WordPress peeps. After working with Monique’s site to get it up and running I was getting impatient with MT. The version I was using was pretty out-dated.
I haven’t finished with this yet, I just threw this theme together over the weekend, and it’s based heavily on Monique’s. Heck, with all that time designing that thing it should run on more than just 2 sites! I plan on creating more themes so that you can choose one you like and view the site with it when you visit, just like with the last site.
Thanks to Jon for pointing me in the direction of the script for the right-hand sidebar menu. I’m not done tweaking the way it’s working yet, but it saves a lot of space, which I need since I’ve moved from a 3 column site to a 2 column site. Also gotta give Jon props for discovering WordPress just over a year ago! I waited out some upgrades and the new version is very very nice.
This is a work in progress for a bit, as I know there are some things that aren’t working. Give me some time to get acclimated.
