Yeah, I know… Bing Crosby probably has the most well known version of White Christmas… Otis too did the song in his own style, Elvis and Ella, Frank and Dino.. they’ve all done it. But the one that makes it for me is the Drifters version. It’s all over the place and is just plain awesome. A few years ago someone paired it with this animation and the song got even better. For those who haven’t seen this, enjoy, and for those who have, sing along! And Merry Christmas too!

Doesn’t look like them does it? Well, the tie colors at least came across, but it’s not what we’re used to. Luckily the songs are just as catchy, if a little more kid-targeted. While gathering stuff for the critter to watch on the idiot box, we found these guys and thought they sounded a LOT like Tally Hall. I just got around to checking that fact only to find out they IS them! If you’re smelling what I’m cookin’ here, check out Tally Hall and Happy Monster Band for yourself!

I’m not even in the market for web space or a blog service, and even if you’re in the same boat I’m in there you’ll still be drooling at the services that are being offered by the latest release (v5) over at squarespace.com. They are doing so much “2.0″ (to use an even more overused phrase) it’ll make your head spin. Just watch the video on their home page to know what I mean. Amazing stuff!

We all get those emails that say “don’t buy gas on May 31st! — we’ll teach those oil companies!” and then we never know what happens, even if we don’t buy the gas that day. There’s a group that’s take this kinda idea and applied to it to the flash mob idea. Carrotmob.org is proposing that consumers band together and use their purchasing power to change the way businesses think about energy efficiency. They do this by focusing a lot of consumer power at one brand or location who have agreed to use a percentage of their profit to decrease their carbon footprint. Their first test was a smashing success and I’m looking forward to hearing out their future projects.

What I love about this approach is that is that it doesn’t involve any negatives: no boycotts, no strikes, no horrible letters. Everyone wins here. Great idea!
