How Many Bars Do You Have In Your Hood?

signalmapTonight I found a cool site that let’s you explore neighborhoods to get the feel of what kind of mobile signal strength you’ll get. Check out SignalMap to see where the good signals or the dead spots are. You can even contribute if you know where your cell strength goes hot or cold. This site is great when shopping for a new phone — you can see the differences in the big wireless companies’ coverage, and the differences between phones on the same network in the same neck of the woods.

Of course, I’m not buying another cell phone for a long time.

FOOTBALL!

FOOTBALL!

It’s go time!

——————————

This photo was taken today at the Charger game. It was the opening kickoff of a game that would turn into a one-sided shellacking. The Chargers beat the Saints 43-17! I went down to SD with Rich and Dan. We were all decked out in Charger gear , but Dan had a Saints hat too. Those that know Dan know that he’s a fan of more than one team, and these happen to be two of his favorites, so he was a bit torn. Until, of course, the Chargers tore into the Saints. Anyway we had a blast with the cheap seat crowd. Our section started a wave, we had a “Raiders Suck” chant going at one point, there was even a fight or something where security had to come escort a crazy woman out of the stadium. Must have been a Saints fan. We had a variety of weather too. It was sunny, then dark, then windy, then rainy, then cold, then sunny again. All in all a great day for football. Music anyone? Oh, and there are also more pics from this afternoon to the left (on flickr).

Holidays already?

Holidays already?

Holidays come a bit early at work. Can’t forget about Thanksgiving!

Okay, I should explain the above entry. I’ve configured my new phone so I can email photos that I take with it directly to this blog as entries. That’s what the above is. Then there’s the Mobile Photos module on the left. I swapped out the flash animated kinda thing in favor of a more traditional approach. It currently shows thumbnails of my last 4 photos posted to my flickr site. When you click on them it’ll take you to a larger version of the photo, which lives on the flickr site. You can comment there too, even register and become a contact of mine over there if you want. I put a little tooltip above the thumbnails just in case people get confused. It was more just to do the tooltip than anything, I think.

I’ve done a bunch more playing with that site and I love it! It’s really well thought out and even though it’s early in the process (it’s still in beta) it’s got a lot of power. I love well put together web sites! Anyway, I’ll probably be tweaking and better integrating it as we go here. So stay tuned.
