Conspiracy Theory Generator

Are you one of those folks who fear big brother and make every effort to keep your personal info out of the hands of those who could learn more about you and market to, plot against, track, lojack, pretend to be you, etc? I can identify with some of that, fo sho. I had someone else’s name (and their bad credit) on my credit report years ago and it took some manual letter-writing to get it straightened out. And there’s a girl at work who just had her identity stolen. It’s a big scare these days with personal information changing hands so often on this here internet. I stumbled on a fun, and somewhat related toy online: a personal barcode generator. He’s mine…

Me, as a Barcode!

This barcode contains some personal information (nothing too specific) about me. This could be the way we’re all tracked when those conspiracy theories come out to be true! Weee! Go barcode yourself.

Weekend in the Pacific Northwest

Judy and Pat’s 50th

My first paying gig as a photographer was last night. The 50th wedding anniversary for my buddy Tim’s parents. There were probably 50-60 people there at a restaurant lounge in the hills of Portland. It was really a good time — good food, drinks, company, and even entertainment! Tim and his high school pals performed a variety of 50′s tunes (with Tim on sax and some vocals) and everyone danced and sang along. Monique came along and we borrowed an extra camera body (Canon 10D) and she and I did all the shooting, while Shana was on video duty.

As for the photography, it was pretty challenging venue. The entire wall facing Portland was made up of windows, back-lighting every photo taken that direction. Then there was the issue of lighting — the place was very dimly lit and the ceiling was not even so bounce flashes weren’t always an option. Even with these challenges, I think we came away with some really great shots. I’ll be going through the 400-some shots we took and putting together an album for the happy couple in the coming days.

Today I’m hanging out at my mom’s place in Vancouver. It’s certainly an extra perk to be able to see my family while we’re here.
