Home Update

Here’s the latest:
Our Realtor says that the seller is pretty much locked into a property and we should hear soon about when she starts escrow. We just need to get our loan approved (we’re pre-qualified, so it shouldn’t be too hard) and get the necessary paperwork filled out and sent in. She also mentioned that the seller is willing to do any sort of escrow necessary and we could close in July still! woah, that would be cool, because it would give us a couple extra weeks before we want to finally move in (2nd weekend in August) to get some work done without all of our firniture getting in the way.
Monique and I went to Home Depot and took a bunch of paint samples. We’re trying to decide what color to paint all of the rooms in the new place. We’re not gonna go crazy with weird color, but we’re not shying away from color either. I’m not afraid to say there’s red involved.
We’re putting together a list (of course, it’s us) of things we want to do home improvement-wise and the cost and priority it has. This way we won’t go too crazy at the beginning and blow a whole bunch of dough we don’t have. We do want to do a few things to put our touch on the place though. I’m thinking that’ll amount to laying hardwood floors downstairs (we talked to our neighbor who is a contractor and he said he’d do it for us for a deal!), scrape the ceilings, and paint paint paint!
