June 25th, 2007 at 11:40 amI must say that this is the most creative way of giving the news versus what I did:
1. First kid: blurt it out to you after Linda pressuring me
2. Second kid: Announced at a team meetingYeah yeah yeah for you guys! Remember, the crib is yours if you want it!

June 26th, 2007 at 6:09 amCongratulations!!!! When is the baby due? Are you guys going to find out the gender of the baby? When Becky and I told my parents, we sent them emails and for about 3 weeks (everyday) mentioning the number 15 tons of times (This will be grandchild #15 for my parents). We figured my parents would get it since they like to say how many grandkids they have. Oh well, we finally gave them a huge hint and they finally got it.
Your movie is cool. What programs did you use to make it? Motion? Soundtrack?

June 26th, 2007 at 10:21 amThanks everyone!
I used Apple Motion for the whole thing. It was the first time I’d used it and it took me about 4 hours over 2 days to get it done, but it was fairly easy and the Motion interface is nice. It’s capable of so much more, but I wanted to keep it simple to keep the retro feel. Monique played creative concept girl and it responsible for the Sitting in a Tree idea and the music selection. I’m pretty pleased how it turned out!
The baby is currently due on 1/1/08, but that could change since they only base that on the current size of the critter. We find out what the sex is at an appointment at the end of July.
Stay tuned!

July 9th, 2007 at 6:30 amHi Joe Popp! Joe Popp here! I have set up a Google Alert which shows me activity from other Popps and Joe Popps in particular. You seem like a really nice person. I approve of your Joe Poppness!!! I am 52 years old, live in Erie PA and have been working at the Erie Art Museum (as the Master Framer) for the past 18 years. My wife, Karen Dodson, works with me there. We have a fabulous 10 year old daughter, Ella. I play guitars and have a whacky band called “Joseph Allen Popp’s Weirdo Theatre”. Check out my MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/josephallenpopp39sweirdotheatre
The other Joe Popp who plays music and is all over the web seems like an aggressive twit. I really don’t know, but my few attempts at contacting him have led me to believe that he is not very friendly. I want you to know that not all the other Joe Popps out there are twits! Hope we can keep in touch over the years…nice to run in to another nice Joe Popp. Congratulations on your upcoming family member. Having Ella has changed EVERYTHING FOR THE BETTER. We love her so much. Drop a line when you have time. And tell your friends and family that there IS another good Joe Popp out there!
Your same name friend,
Joe Popp -

July 9th, 2007 at 6:45 amWow! Another Joe Popp! Cool. Thanks for the note! I was contact by a fan of that other Joe Popp a few years back. I ended up getting a t-shirt and a CD from him out of it! HE didn’t seem like a twit, but I think I only had one email with him, so who knows? Thanks for the kind words about out upcoming critter, we’re excited!

July 18th, 2007 at 10:57 pmHey Joe Allen Popp:
I am not an agressive twit! You contacted me once in 2001 and sent me a 5MB file (unsolicited) when I had a dial up modem! Now that’s agressive! When I said don’t send me 5mb files you said I didn’t like your music. I’m a super nice guy. Ask anybody, even all the other Joe Popps. Please don’t refer to me as a twit when you don’t even know me. Send me your address and I’ll send you some shirts and a skateboard. Happy framing!
