Another Google Thingy

Google recently launched a “game” (they call it) to help to better categorize the images you find when you use their image search (which I’m sure we all do). Here’s how it works:
You’ll be randomly paired with a partner who’s online and using the feature. Over a 90-second period, you and your partner will be shown the same set of images and asked to provide as many labels as possible to describe each image you see. When your label matches your partner’s label, you’ll earn some points and move on to the next image until time runs out. After time expires, you can explore the images you’ve seen and the websites where those images were found. And we’ll show you the points you’ve earned throughout the session.
What’s cool about this is that they found a really cool way to get the community involved and get accurate results at the same time. Bravo again, Google!
Try your hand at labeling some images!

October 20th, 2006 at 12:46 pmHeya Joe…just tried this out about a dozen times or so. Sort of addictive. At first I was thinking that it might be sorta cheesy and lame (and maybe it is and I’m just into the lame and cheesy…but that’s another matter altogether)…but it’s sort of fun. Best I did was 600.
