Away for the Weekend

Monique and I flew up to Northern California this weekend to attend her mother Lina’s surprise 60th birthday party. Monique’s dad Bob had the idea and everyone did their part to help pull it off. Lina isn’t an easy one to fool (not that she’s nosey or anything ;-)) but she fell for it all the way!
She was invited to a fake Anniversary party at their country club and when she got there, all of the people that wouldn’t usually be attending this party (mostly family) hid in the back of the room behind the rest of the near 60-person crowd. Everyone acted like it was the anniversary party until Lina noticed a video playing on the big TV in the corner. This was a video that Monique and I had made especially for the occasion. Lina walked in and said HI to a few people and a photo of her as a child caught her eye on the TV and made her realize that the party wasn’t an anniversary party at all, but a surprise party for her! It was a fun weekend to get away and spend some time with family for a really good reason. Happy 60th Lina!
