Busy Be Me

I have got to find a better way to get more done, and still find time to goof off. That’s a tall order I know, but between work, house projects, buying a new car, selling an old car, trying to exercise more, attempting to have our air conditioner fixed, fixing our home phone (we don’t have a dial tone for some reason and the phone company says it’s fine), planning a vacation or two, getting ready for family visits in August, and trying to make time for and posting to this here site, I gots no time! Heck, I even have a whole new design comped up and ready to be built, but I can’t find the time and energy to sit down in front of my computer long enough to get it done.

Sure, I know what you’re thinking… Doesn’t Google have something that can solve all of these worries for ya, Joe? Not really. I’ve looked. Google Calendar is something that both Monique and I are using on a regular basis now, though. And I have a Google spreadsheet that breaks down every scenario for finance rate/gas prices/sale price of the Tribute imaginable. But that’s another story.

We did have some time last weekend, only had a garage sale planned (ON THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR!!). My mom had an opportunity to fly down for the weekend, staying with us for a brief visit. It was the first time she’d seen all of the work we’ve done on the house! She’s very proud and so are we. It was really nice to have her as a guest and just have some hang-out time with her for a bit, even with the air conditioner acting up. Her house is coming along in Vancouver, WA and it may even be done by her birthday in September. Giving her the tour of our house made me realize how much work we actually have done, and unfortunately, how much work we still plan on doing.

So… I’ll have to figure out some system and stick to it. But until then I’ll just have to squeeze some time

We had a similar problem in Oregon with our phone and the phone company was saying it was fine the whole time. Turned out that thte cable company had disconnected our line at the local box and failed to mention it to anyone. You should have the phone company come out and check the box cause I guess anyone can get in there.

Yeah, they did come out. They checked the box at the curb, and the box at the side of the house. But we do have some of the jacks that are not completely attached to the walls so there migh thave been a cat getting involed with some wires. I may need to re-do all the jacks in the house. fun.

Meanwhile we have the home calls being trasferred to my cell phone, which is working pretty well.

If it’s Verizon, you’re screwed. They have the WORST service in Cerritos. Hands down.

Good news… Phone is fixed. Wasn’t anything we did. The wonderful Verizon fools crossed our line with another one and somehow ended up shutting it off. Wonderful. Took two trips, but it’s fixed now.

That’s why we switched to Vonage last year. I love it!

I’m not even sure why we have a home phone, we rarely use it. I downgraded our plan to a much cheaper one.

Also, the whole stupid ordeal wasn’t really resolved on Friday. Until earlier today if you called our home number, some asian girl named Rose answered. Seems okay now, but what the hell? How hard is this phone stuff?
