I’ve had it with DSL.

Yeah… I’m about done with my trial period of DSL. It was trucking along okay with only a couple of outages but when I really needed to do some heavy lifting it really let me down. REALLY. The numbers don’t lie. I was getting double this when my service was new a few months ago. Didn’t they think I would notice?
I put in my order for Wave Broadband’s Power User cable package earlier today. That’s listed as getting 8Mbps download/768Kbps upload. That’s an average of 25 times faster than the number above show. It’s a few bucks more a month, but it’s going to be worth it for the amount of time we spend online.

July 10th, 2006 at 9:56 pmIt’s worth every penny! As you saw on The Drive, I’m geting 6Mbps now. I understand that Adelphia has a “premium” service that get’s over 10Mbps…it’s about $18 per month more, but I’m tempted…very tempted. DSL is cheaper, and it’s fine for my grampa who just emails (spams…if you knew how much he sends!) his friends and family and looks up the odd piece of info here and there. But for any avid internet user, especially with all the new online apps, a multi-Mbps connection is a must. Welcome back to the fast lane!

July 11th, 2006 at 1:32 amThanks, yeah, Wave Broadband has a faster one that I’m getting too, 10+ wow… but it’s not discounted for the first 3 months like this one is, and I’d rather not spedn that much per month. This will already be a leap as it is. Can’t wait til it’s installed!
