Mork Calling Orsen… Nano Nano!!
Thursday September 15, 2005 at 11:19 pm | Filed under Family, Gadgetry, Mac, Me

The nano has landed. Thanks Monique!! The engraving is a bit of an inside joke in that when i got her an iPod 2 years ago for our 6 year wedding anniversary, I filmed a mock iPod commercial where I was wearing the iPod and singing that James Taylor song. I ended up not even using it when I gave her the gift, but showing it to her later and we both had a pretty good laugh. It was pretty corny, but it lives on with this engraving!

September 16th, 2005 at 9:23 amThat Monique is quite a girl! What a sweet ingraving. I love my iPod – it’s changed my life when I travel. 6 hours on a plane is a breeze. How big is that thing by the way?

September 22nd, 2005 at 2:52 pmOk, I’m safe. No chance my wife will read this post…so here goes. My wife’s birthday is next month and I bought her a Nano. The inscription (inspired by the clever use of song lyrics on your Nano) reads “Ericka – I love it when we’re crusin’ together.” It’s a special song for us, we often sing it together, Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow style, when we find ourselves in a karaoke bar. Crusin’ was also one of the background songs on our wedding video. I wonder what she’ll put on mine……….

September 22nd, 2005 at 7:49 pmAwesome… yeah, Monique and I have sang that song together too. Something about the harmonies that we love to butcher with our crappy singing talent. Sounds okay to us, I guess.
You’re assuming she’s getting you one, right?
Black or white? Mine is white. I couldn’t get away from the clean look of the white and the thought of all those fingerprints on the black one. It does look sleek though. -

September 23rd, 2005 at 7:58 amHer’s is white. I’m hoping for a black one…fingerprints and all. Black is different, not the “mug me white” (as I’ve heard it called) that you see dangling from everyone’s head (not that there’s anything wrong with it). If nothing else, it’ll make them easy to tell apart. Maybe for Christmas?

October 4th, 2005 at 11:33 pmEricka’s Nano arrived today…it’s beautiful and the engraving is perfect! I just got done charging the battery and downloading (from iTunes of course) a few new albums she wants. Now my only problem is hiding this thing for two weeks…her birthday isn’t until the 16th! As excited as I am about it I might have to give it to her sooner (I’m sure you can relate). I’ll post pics of the engraving on my site once I present her with her present.

October 5th, 2005 at 1:49 pmoh, I suck at waiting to give gifts. I’m more impatient about that then I am at receiving them — he said after receiving his iPod nano 2 months before his actual birthday.
The knock on the Nanos, if any, has been that the screens are easily scratched. I haven’t experienced this myself, but I went ahead and picked up a protector thing for it, just to be safe. I would recommend pickin one up, if you want, at theinvisiblshield.com.
