The Pop Shoppe is back, eh?

Yeah! The Pop Shoppe is back in business. There is a catch, however. They’re not in the USA yet. I guess there are plans to come here, but they’re not quite here yet.
For those not in the know, The Pop shoppe is a soda retailer that my family used to get when I was a kid. I’m not sure if we were obligated since the product practically had our name on it, but we drank the soda and liked it, and we went back for more plastic crate things full of those glass bottles.
Looking at the re-launched Pop Shoppe web site, I’ve learned that The Pop Shoppe’s roots are in Canada, and (of course) there’s a strong hockey vibe going on with them. I like them even more now!
I’m sure this is all very similar to the Jones Soda thing that’s going on now, and other trendy sodas. I hope they do well and Pop Shoppe sodas become available here soon!

April 25th, 2005 at 9:19 amI loved the Pop Shoppe! That would be so rad if they brought that back.
When did Jones Soda get trendy? I’m not one to measure my enjoyment of something based on its popularity curve. But I thought they were still the best kept secret in soda pop since I had my first Jones Grape in 1999. Of course, then they discontinued the grape and I walked away from the bastards. But they’ve brought back some new type of grape flavor. I gotta go try some of that.

April 25th, 2005 at 9:59 amI didn’t mean trendy in a bad way. I dig the Jones soda! Jones has that artsy kitchy small company made it big feel, and now their stuff is avalable in major grocery stores, very cool story. Hopefully The Pop Shoppe will follow suit.

April 25th, 2005 at 5:00 pmWow. I have the best memories of going to the pop shoppe. We would take all our bottles in the red bin and then fill up another bin. It was too cool!

April 27th, 2005 at 6:46 amI’ve never even heard of this. I checked out their site and found 2 things.
1- I can’t wait to get my mitts on some pineapple flavored soda.
2- I’m almost positive that Mr. Burns, in at least one episode, refers to The Pop Shoppe when he mentions something about a “Lime Ricky”. -

April 28th, 2005 at 8:20 amYou can see, barely, that the front-middle bottle in this picture reads “Lime Ricky” on the label.
