Games that I’m looking forward to…

Just a few games I’m waiting for. I probably won’t get all of them, but they all have something that is interesting to me, check them out if you’re curious.

Gran Turismo 4 – Racing Sim – The grandaddy of all racing games is about to have another kid. Or something like that… that’s not the official slogan, I hope. This game has sucked countless hours away from me through its iterations. This one is another leap, but not the leap that we all had hoped for. Still no physical damage, and no online play, and no 5.1, but there are some improvements (like1080i resolution, photo mode, b-spec mode, 53 tracks, and over 700 cars–WHAT?!) Add that to the already rock solid physics engine improvements and this one will be tough to beat even without those improvements we’ve all been after. Scheduled release date: 2/22/05.

Forza Motorsport – Racing Sim – What Microsoft is positioning as a Gran Turismo killer actually looks more like one every day. With GT4 removing features as its launch approaches, Forza is adding them. This should be everything you want in a car racing sim, and an arcade racer for that matter. Should take what Gotham Racing started and take it to the next level… but can it de-throne the GT franchise? Scheduled release date: 4/5/05

Jade Empire – Action RPG – From the makers of KOTOR come an RPG that looks amazing and has the game play to back it up. Lots of originality in this one, including a story set in mythical China. It may not carry the Star Wars name, but I bet this game will be a lot better than KOTOR. Scheduled release date: 4/15/05

Conker: Live and Reloaded – 3PS/FPS – Conker is a cool franchise, it’s got a comedy base with spoofs of action movies all over the storyline, but this sequel looks to dwarf the solid story with squad-based game play online. Should be worth a look. Scheduled release date: 5/1/05

Pariah – FPS – The makers of Unreal Tournament take a stab at a new story with their most recent game engine. This one is for Xbox and PC and is the first Xbox title that will feature a map editor that Xbox live members can build with and share their creations! (bout time) Scheduled release date: 5/3/05

Popeye: Rush for Spinach – Platform – In Popeye: Rush for Spinach, the Sea Hag witch has stolen the worldıs supply of spinach to feed her ghosts. Now Popeye and three other playable characters, Olive Oyl, Bluto and Wimpy, must race to defeat her. Scheduled release date: 4/30/05

I’m also anxious ffor Half-Life 2 to come to Xbox so I can play it, but that may be a long ways off. :-(

Okay, that Popeye one’s a joke. But it’s a real game!
