The TL has landed.

So last night we bought the new TL. It’s a beautiful deep blue color called Abyss Blue Pearl and has a Camel colored interior, which is is more like a warm rich tannish with a hint of orange in there. Camel is a good word for it, I suppose, or at least it’s better than calling it Rich-Warm-Tannish-Orangey. I was up really late last night after making the rounds to the parents’ places figuring things out, setting XM presets, pairing my phone with the HandsFree system, listening to some DVD-Audio, and reading the manuals.
There are some really poor pictures of it on flickr of it, but these will be replaced soon with some better ones. I had a pretty shakey hand after signing on the dotted line. Even though that was probably the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. I actually left there with a good feeling instead of the horrible one I normally have when I commit to a car finance. Between going in there over-prepared with internet quotes from other dealers and having a pre-approved loan from my credit union, I think my research on this one paid off.
We also ended the lease on the old one and turned it in, which was kinda sad. That car was amazing, and if they hadn’t improved the car so much in the last few years I think I would have purchased that one. But… I managed to keep the payments really close to what we were paying monthly on the lease, so we shouldn’t take a hit on the monthly routine.
We’re going to have this one for at least 10 years, I imagine, so here’s to many miles in the new TL!

January 23rd, 2005 at 11:27 pmNot really sure. I think it once stood for Total Luxury, but I’m not even sure if that’s right or something I assumed. I’m not sure it means anything. The flagship is the RL, the one below it is the TSX, and the litte one is the RSX, so I can’t see a pattern. It could be “The Legend” since the TL was called the Acura Legend before it was the TL.

January 25th, 2005 at 10:43 pmI miss the two Acuras we used to have. Too bad Acura doesn’t make a minivan.

January 26th, 2005 at 7:39 pmIt’s a great brand, but you’ve got the closts thing to an Acura minivan, I think. I’m sure the Odessy is what we’d buy if we were in the market.
Monique was saying that we’d probably always own an Acura since we’re so happy with them, and I don’t doubt it.
