An Incredible Connection

When I saw The Incredibles for the second time on Sunday, I caught something that I hadn’t the first time through. It has to do with Jason Lee. It’s not much of a spoiler, but I do mention some characters, so if you don’t wanna know, don’t click through.
Early on in the movie, Jason Lee voices the young “IncrediBoy” and Mr. Incredible can’t remember IncrediBoy’s real name. He tried to remember what his name is and guesses wrong the first time. His name turned out to be Buddy, but Mr. Incredible’s first guess was BRODIE! Brodie, as all faithful Kevin Smith film followers know, was Jason Lee’s character in the not so acclaimed Mallrats. Smith’s second film.
Awesome, huh? Pixar giving a shout out to MALLRATS!

November 18th, 2004 at 10:33 pmI did catch that and also thought The Incredibles was the best Pixar movie yet! Absolutely stunning story and visuals. It borrowed heavily from one of my favorite comics “Watchmen” and I didn’t mind it one bit. Tons of fun and a great shout out out K. Smith. Also, look for Samuel L. Jackson’s “Hi Karate” cologne.
