Happy Halo 2 Day!
Tuesday November 9, 2004 at 6:43 pm | Filed under Gaming

Today is the day that millions, (yeah millions) of people get to play Halo 2 for the first time. Probably the most anticipated game release of all time. I know a number of people who called in sick today, and even got the game last night at midnight at certain game shops that stayed open for the release. I’ve read a few reviews all they all speak very highly of the sequel to the most popular Xbox game so far. Here’s one for your leisurely reading that rated the game a 9.8 outta 10.
As for me, I pre-ordered it about 4 months ago, and it probably won’t get here until later this week. But that’s okay because I’m pretty busy with work right now.

November 10th, 2004 at 8:11 amOops, I called in sick yesterday, but didn’t get Halo 2. I’m one of the gamers who will have to go play it at someone else’s house for the time being. hint. hint.

November 10th, 2004 at 3:14 pmA student 2 years ago told me I should stop by the dorm and play Halo with him and his buddies, it was such a cool game. Maybe, but not cool enough to fraternize with a student. Nay, a freshman at that!
Ah, those net night days seem so carefee in retrospect! I’d love to do another one of those, only I have no PC.

November 10th, 2004 at 4:25 pmI believe, and correct me if I’m wrong Joe, that you can network Xboxes. Dan has one…so with Joe’s that would allow 8 people to play. One team upstairs and one team downstairs.
I’d be willing to bake cookies like I used to for you guys. When will you be in town for the holidays, Arlen?

November 10th, 2004 at 8:30 pmYeah, maybe I’ll plan something soon. Ironically, I can invite my little brother who will kick all our butts. Some may remember he was the low man on the totem pole at a Quake 2 net night in Cypress years ago.
I think we have 4 Xboxes between the bunch of us. It’s really easy to network them together. But I’m not sure how it would work wirelessly. I’ll have to try some things out.
Should be fun!

November 10th, 2004 at 8:50 pmJoe, will you buy me an Xbox for Christmas?
I’d be down for a net night this Xmas, although my long hiatus from action gaming–almost from any gaming (4 years?)–ensures I’ll get my ass whupped.
I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be around, but I will certainly be there. It’s probably safe to say that I’ll be there from the 20th till New Year. As long as our plans don’t conflict with any of my trips to Weinerschnitzel with Rich, we’ll be good!

November 11th, 2004 at 8:29 amI’m rubbish at any FPS on a console and am not familiar with Xbox controllers… so sign me up anyway. I want to see the revenge of the little brother (I do remember that time he was there).
I was talking to the wife about hosting a LAN party sometime until I learned that (up until a couple of weeks ago) Dan was still using the same PC he was using at those ol’ NetNights six years ago. Then with some of y’all abandoning the PC… well… it looks like the Xbox is the new way to do LAN parties. I might need to invest in one of these: http://gear.ign.com/articles/553/553928p1.html

November 11th, 2004 at 4:09 pm1.)The controls for Halo are extremely intuitive, first game I ever played on the Xbox and I got the scheme down within 5 minutes.
2.) My computer is now most robust, and it works!!!…even though I built it myself. Say goodbye to the Monster Voodoo 2 card.
3.)If I recall, Half Life 2 is also coming out within the next month, not too sure how the
networking would work with that though.4.) Xbox count: Joe, Nate, Me and Joe’s brother, and who knows how many controllers.
