A new guy at work is really into some great music. He’s been sharing some of it with me and it’s got me looking at my collection and seeing what’s new in the world of music I dig. So I stumble on a new release from Jason Falkner! It’s not out yet, but it’s coming out in October. It’s an EP of sorts, but it’s all new songs. Amazon has it for pre-order for about $10. I also ran acrossa couple of other albums that JF has that I’d never acquired. Necessity: 4 Track Years is a compilation of old demos and things that he’s done, and Everyone Says It`s On which is a 2 CD set of alternate recordings of some of his songs, and Disc 2 is all covers. Both will be mine someday, but I’ll probably get the new EP thingy first.

I’m also trying to get down to Largo, a club in LA on some Friday night soon to see Jon Brion. He’s played with a ton of bands that I dig and I think he’d be worth seeing.

    Let me know what you think of the Falkner album(s); I dug his other stuff a lot.

    Brion’s cool. Is he a regular there on Fridays? If you pick a Friday to go, let me know. I’d like to check him out, too.
