Fantasy Football is fun

This year, I’m in multiple leagues. I know I’m asking for trouble, as it’s tough enough to focus on one league without having to worry about being confused about who I started in two. There was a reason for it. We actually tried a “live draft” in a league as an experiment. The draft was fun, and I guess we’ll see how well we did as the season progresses. In the main league (the one where we pre-rank players for an online (non-live) draft) we’ve also tried something new. Instead of a pure points league where the team with the most points at the end of the year wins, we have a head-to-head thing going. This means that each week, my fantasy team goes up against someone else’s fantasy team and The team with the most points between us gets a win for that week. This way we actually have a record. So far this week, with one game remaining tonight, I’m beating my opponent, but not by a lot, and my players all have played, while he has a player (WR) playing tonight. I think my lead is big enough to hold up unless this receiver has a HUGE game. We’ll see!
Yesterday a bunch of us went over to my pal Nate’s place where we had the big screen/split screen goodness paired with the NFL Ticket package. If that sounds like a lot, it is. Every football game that’s on is at your fingertips. So we watched as much as we could. Unfortunately Nate doesn’t have a computer (yeah, he’s the last one) so we couldn’t monitor our progress on the fantasy side of things as the games were played. Some day that boy’s gonna get online.
Not lost among the grid iron mayhem was the Chargers beating the Texans. Wow! The Chargers won! Dust off the bandwagon, there’s gonna be some new passengers! Let’s hope their improved play continues next week.
