1960′s Vegas invades!

Over the weekend (Saturday night) Monique and I threw a party. We had about 30 people over, all dressed up in formal attire a la the early 60s. I had secretly flown Monique’s parents in without her knowing, they were here on Thursday night when we got back from the Guster concert (at which said band Guster did rock) they were already at our place waiting. monique walked in to a dark livingroom and her dad took a picture of her. One that she won’t let me post! It’s a pretty good shot. She’s freakin’ out. There is, however a pic of Monique and some guy in my photos section.

Anyway, for the party, we decorated the place, had tons of food–most of which was homemade (the gnocchi got rave reviews!). Had a custom soundtrack playing with all kinds of kitschy music, a cheesy, but fun celebrity guessing game thing, a photo opportunity, some toasts, and of course a big poker tournament!

We worked our tail off to plan and host this thing and it was well worth it. A lot of thanks go to Monique’s parents for playing along with my surprise, and then lending a huge hand in helping us set up and host. They’re pros at that kinda thing and it wouldn’t have been the same without them. We had a great time and hope everyone that came did too. Hope to see you all at the next one… possibly in October!

You look a grip younger than you did with a goat! I can’t believe how quickly I forgot what the “old” you looked like.

BTW, looks like this is a Comment Turkey for me. Or a Hat Trick, if I’m getting my sports terminology right . . .

Well, my hair has about half of a bottle of gel in it too, so that may be a look you don’t recognize. I was going for the parted look that I haven’t sported in some time.
