It’s gone too far.

Okay, I was all for the William Hung thing until I heard what he did to Hotel California. Please, in the name of all things holy, stick to quantum physics, or whatever you were going to school for.
On Bill’s new album “Inspiration” he destroys a number of songs, including but not limited to: I Believe I Can Fly, Free, Y.M.C.A. (for cryin’ out loud!), Rocketman, and a number of Disney songs like Circle of Life, Can You Feel the Love, and Two Worlds. To top off this mess, he’s got inspirational messages sprinkled throughout the disc, a la Stuart Smalley.
This was all as cute and as fun as a box full of care bears and rainbows when he wasn’t making records. Now excuse me while I go try to stop my ears from bleeding.

April 18th, 2004 at 5:23 pmWilliam, I don’t give a DAMMM about your passion. Does beauty inhere in the object, or is it projected onto the work by the listener? I thing W.H. makes a strong case for the former, since it’s obvious that there is NO beauty whatsoever in the songs themselves.

April 21st, 2004 at 9:12 amI was listening to this album and the wife walked into the room (she’s a big AI fan, so she knew who it was immediately). “I Believe I Can Fly” was playing. She just said, “I can’t believe that you’re actually listening to more than 5 seconds of this crap.” and left the room.

April 21st, 2004 at 10:32 amI think it’s time you call that private detective to help find your brain, Joe. What were you expecting; the next Freddie Mercury? It’s tough to feel sorry for you when you actually paid money for it. I wouldn’t have bought the thing even after 10 beers (see how I worked that in, there) – especially since we at work just downloaded half the songs on the Internet for free just to torture ourselves. Now EA uses the tracks as negative reenforcement for our QA staff. Poor buggers.
