31

It was my Birthday yesterday. I turned 31. Feels a little like 30 did, which wasn’t a big deal… but I’m starting to see why people don’t like to get older. I can’t explain it, but I’m starting to feel it.

This birthday was a lot of fun. Monique’s parents came down for the weekend and we worked and played. The work being that we put up crown molding in the livingroom, complete with setting up my surround sound speakers (finally!). It looks sharp, and it didn’t take all that long to do. Then we played by going to Wood Ranch BBQ on Saturday night and shopping. On Sunday we had a bit of family and friends over and Monique made a great meal: Teriyaki Salmon! It’s a favorite of mine from her arsenal of dishes. We had a great time eating and watching football and hockey — and oh yes, there were gifts!

This was all, of course, in addition to the Vegas trip hat Monique had surprised me with last week. All of these things make it a bit nicer to be turning another year older.

I’m looking forward to finishing this short week at work and getting on with the long weekend to watch some new DVDs I got with the new surround setup.

Happy birthday Joe! I would’ve called you yesterday, but a) I was busy like a mofo, and b) I wasn’t sure of the actual day. I blame the 24th for falling between JFK’s murder and Thanksgiving. Glad to hear you guys got your grub on–I’ve never been to Wood Ranch BBQ, I don’t think.

Joe’s b-day is on the 23rd actually…I don’t think he realized that he was posting to his blog at 1:03 am. Silly Joe.
