Memorial Day!

Three things Memorial Day usually means for me… Remembering the people that have served this great country through our military, my wedding anniversary, and BBQ! This year the anniversary was #6 and it was a lot of fun. We went out to a very nice dinner on Saturday, then on Sunday went to the movies (a rare occasion!). We did a gift exchange where we went a little overboard. I bought Monique some CDs she’s been wanting and an Apple iPod. I loaded it up with all her favorites and a custom playlist for our Anniversary, sort of like a mix tape we used to make, but higher tech. I also shot a spoof of the new AppleMusic.com iPod commercials where I was singing… I felt kinda cheesy doing it but it was worth it when she saw it. We stretched the celebration to last all weekend!
As for the BBQ — it hasn’t happened …yet! I think we’ll get something on the grill today, it just won’t be the big ordeal we’ve had in the past. I think because of the dreaded bathroom work, we’ve been slacking on it and need to get it done. We’ll take another step today by finally finishing the paint. One last coat on the ceiling oughtta do it. We’ll make up for the lack of BBQ-ness with a bigger shin-dig for Labor Day this year.
