First DVD!

Today I burned my first DVD. …and my second… and my third. It was a quick little project that included a video and two slide shows for my neice Erin’s 1st birthday. The first DVD burned just great, I popped it in the DVD player downstairs for the big test. Everything worked well except that one of the slideshows just plain stopped in the middle of it, always at the same photo. So I thought it may have been a bad burn, so I did it again. Same result. For the third time I removed that photo and replaced it with another. This time it worked flawlessly.
I’m impressed with iDVD (the software I used to burn the DVD) because of it’s simplicity. Pretty much anyone could make a nice looking DVD with it. Where it’s lacking is in it’s customizability, if that’s a word. You can’t tweak it all day long if you wanted. You get only so many choices for duration, menues, animation, etc. I’m still learning the more complex DVD authoring software (Apple’s DVD Studio Pro).
