Final Walkthrough

Tonight we went on our final walkthrough of our new home. Talk about exciting! I haven’t seen the place in 3 weeks, so it was cool to get in there again, even if it was only for an hour or so. They fixed most of things we asked for them to fix and the couple that they didn’t I’m not worried about.

We signed the final walkthrough papers and met the seller and her agent there. They showed us all of the things that were fixed and as a surprise, the seller gave us the key to the place! We haven’t even closed yet! I guess we look trustworthy or something. So we have yet another thing to tease us about this place: we have the key, but we can’t go over there yet!

Another bit of unexpected news is that the seller will be vacating the place on Sunday afternoon around 2pm, so Monique and I are going to plan our first unaccompanied visit for late Sunday afternoon. I think we’re even gonna bring some stuff over! Why not start the move? At least a little of it?

Oh, did I mention we went straight to Home Depot and made copies of the key right after we left the place? Of course we did! I ran into someone I used to work with while we were there and I couldn’t remember her name. I hate that! Anyway, I still remembered her and we caught up a little.

Next big day is Friday, that’s the day we close!

turns out these aren’t the real keys, just a photo I found on the net. The real keys… ha, this is funny. There’s a different key for every lock in that place. 5 keys in all! I think we’ve got lock purchasing in our future too.
